Michael Mathieu is a Berlin-based photographer finding frames across the world.

I think of photography across five concepts - the idea, the light, the frame, the moment, and the decisiveness to take the photo when in the presence of the other four.

The inspiration for my work comes from the works of painters, especially Camille Corot, Claude Monet, and Caspar David Friedrich.

My subjects range widely - from sun-spotted corridors to animal sanctuaries to street sport matches - wherever the light and the moment converge.
